Sex determination by FISH
Analysis ID 141
Analysis location “GENESIS” Centre for Medical Genetics
Diagnosed illness Sex determination by FISH
Clinical information The major cause of spontaneous abortions is chromosomal aberration appearing in the fetus or the embryo as a result of a de novo mutation. Genetic analysis allows for detection of embryonic gender at a chromosome level, as well as of chromosomal aberration involving sex chromosomes, f. e. Turner syndrome. Overall, chromosomal aberrations are found in 35-40% of spontaneously aborted embryos/fetuses.
Type of analysis Cytogenetic
Type of biological material Spontaneous abortion material (chorionic tissue)
Analyzed genes
